What We Want

The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for working with the Primary Investigator to clean and analyze data from an ongoing longitudinal study, as well as leading and helping with manuscript preparation and submission using existing data sets. Assistance with data collection and advising of students may be required on an as-needed basis. The postdoctoral research associate will work independently and as part of a research team under the supervision of the Primary Investigator to advance products from ongoing and completed research projects. Regular activities will include cleaning and analyzing data, as well as manuscript preparation and submission. Assistance with data collection and advising of students may be required. What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Required Education and Experience:  

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or Human Development or related field

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Specialized study in developmental psychology and/or other area of early child development

  • Must have previous experience conducting psychological research with young children

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with standardized behavioral observations with young children,

  • Experience in the use of cortisol samples, electroencephalography (EEG), and/or electrocardiography (ECG) in early childhood

  • Training in longitudinal data analysis

  • A record of publication during graduate training

Responsibilities:

  • Research- Cleans behavioral and psychophysiological data from ongoing and completed data collection. Analyzes human subjects data to answer scientific questions. Prepares manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals in psychology and developmental science. Presents work done in the lab at national and international conferences.

  • Professional Development- Participates in regular meetings with the Primary Investigator. Collaborates on grant applications. Attends departmental colloquia and meetings of the area and workgroups of interest.

  • Mentorship- Aids in the mentorship of undergraduate and graduate scholars through collaborative research effort. Participates in regular meetings with the research team. Completes other activities agreed upon with the mentor in the service of the fellow's development (e.g., participate in community events with families, collaborate on manuscript reviews, professional workshops or courses, etc.) Performs other duties as assigned.
