Summary/Objective
The Director of Events and Campus Visitation is a senior leadership position in the Division of Enrollment that is designed to help introduce Lees-McRae College to prospective students and families to increase overall interest and convert prospects into new applicants. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating all campus visits, on-campus recruiting events, and off-campus regional events for Lees-McRae College. This includes individual/group visits, campus application generation and yield events, all virtual recruiting events, Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Academic Preview Days, Regional Information Sessions, Accepted Student Receptions, and School Counselor programs. This position is also responsible for the Student Ambassador program, Order of the Tower. The Director Events and Campus Visitation is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. The successful candidate exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students, including interviews, phone calls, emails and information sessions.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement all prospective student visits, including but not limited to open houses, accepted student days, daily information sessions/campus tours, virtual events, enhanced visits, scholars day, regional events, school and independent counselor events, and academic preview days.
  • Participate in the creation of a team enrollment plan to include recruitment activities, events, and campus visit opportunities that support the success of Enrollment Management.
  • Ability to work on a deadline with an understanding of college-wide enrollment goals
  • Manage campus visit communication through various channels (phone, text, email, etc.)
  • High motivation and commitment to College activities, including the ability to self-start, multi-task, problem-solve, and relate to a variety of personalities under diverse circumstances
  • Communicate with teachers, counselors, community-based organizations, and relevant college-bound organizations to arrange school visitation programs
  • Collaborate with faculty and other Lees-McRae personnel to schedule appointments, class visits and participation in admission-related events
  • Coordinate training, implementation, supervisory and professional development aspects of the Student Ambassador program
  • Work with Ambassadors and other current students to serve as tour guides for campus visits
  • Order and maintain materials, handouts, refreshments/snacks for visitors center, including all visitors and school groups
  • Keep accurate records of visits and all recruitment programs
  • Provide regular reports to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Affairs
  • Conduct information sessions on a regular basis (and campus tours as needed/directed)
  • Develop opportunities for increased application generation activities

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise staff, but it will have responsibility for such when it comes to prospective student visits and events. The Director of Events and Campus Visitation will also oversee and manage the unpaid Student Ambassador program.

Work Environment
Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like. In addition, some travel may be required. This will include traveling to and from events, as well as staying in hotels.

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that will require evening and weekend work. Days and hours of work will vary. Monday through Friday hours can be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday work will be required as necessary.

Travel
Day and overnight travel may be required as needed. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Recruiting, management, sales and extensive knowledge of higher education
  • Excellent written and oral communication, well-developed presentation skills, and outstanding customer and quality service skills
  • Competency with Microsoft Office applications and social media marketing platforms
  • Ability to build relationships with students and determine the correct program fit for the students’ educational, career and personal goals

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Slate or another CRM
