Job Title:  Post Doctoral Fellow

Position # 00812531:  – Requisition #: 30616

Job Summary:

The lab of Dr. Sarah Clark, Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for a full-time position on the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.

The Clark lab investigates host-pathogen interactions with a focus on innate immune responses to bacteria in the respiratory tract. We use tissue culture, in vivo infection models, and clinical samples to explore the impact of respiratory tract commensal and pathogenic bacteria on inflammation and infection in the upper and lower airway.

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to spearhead research on how potentially beneficial members of the airway microbiome impact protection against lung infection with the bacterial pathogens Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. Another active project investigates the host and microbial factors that promote bacterial otitis media (ear infection) using a newly developed murine model. Overall, the goal of these studies is to identify microbial factors and host immune pathways which improve the clearance and resolution of respiratory tract infections.

  • The PI is committed to supporting the candidate’s career development and research progress, including the exploration of new project areas and collaborations. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
