Lifeworks of Sonoma County

Job Description

Chief Executive Officer

Who We Are

LifeWorks of Sonoma County is a non-profit behavioral health private corporation that has been serving Sonoma County since 1996. Our mission is to provide high quality mental health services and education to support healthy, positive outcomes for the members of our community. We specialize in community based, bilingual, trauma-informed treatment models that involve the entire family in healing. We employ a diverse staff that reflects the communities with which we work and value the cultural assets that they bring to the agency. We also work to reduce barriers to treatment for the most vulnerable parts of our community with the hope that, through strengthening families, we can build a safer community for all.

Our core competencies include:

  • Trauma-focused mental health treatment for individuals, couples and families

  • Bilingual clinical services

  • In-home mental health treatment

  • Parent education and behavioral intervention

  • Associate clinician development and supervision

  • MediCal documentation and billing

Our services are free to 97% of our clients, 75% of whom live in low-income households. We partner with county and city agencies that provide us with referrals and with the bulk of the resources we need. Our approach has been effective – we served 1,200 people last year, and 80% of the families reported improvement in family functioning and communication, while 83% of clients reported reduced problematic behaviors.

Our wonderful Executive Director has moved on after thirteen incredible years with LifeWorks. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of many successes, one of which is a culture that is safe, warm, accepting, collaborative, fun, and inclusive and where everyone feels heard and valued. We want to maintain her legacy and build the organization to meet the growing needs of mental health in our communities. The next CEO does not need to have a background in mental health. A successful candidate, however, must maintain and build on the legacy created and have a deep respect, compassion, and admiration for the mission of LifeWorks and the need for mental health services in our community.

Mental health is everybody’s problem and every one of us can be a part of the solution.
