Essential Functions
- The research will involve synthesis and chemical modification of two-dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides (MXenes).
- Supervise graduate and undergraduate students
- Presentations at national/international meetings and publication of scientific results in high profile peer-reviewed journals are expected.
- Participate creatively in refining program directions
- Other duties include but not limited to writing reports and managing the research project.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 1 year of experience with:
- Crystallography
- X-ray diffraction
- Transmission electron microscopy
- X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with powder metallurgy techniques
- Experience with wet-laboratory experience
- Experience with synchrotron-based characterization techniques neutron/X-ray pdf
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of colleagues.
