Job Summary:

Participate in mentored research experience with the PI.  Currently, the PI has an active, NIH-funded research program focused broadly on cardiovascular prevention.  Methods used in the PIs lab include epidemiologic and statistical techniques in the analysis and interpretation of large observational cohort studies and clinical registries.  Characterizing the causes of rural health outcome disparities represents a major area of focus for the PIs current lab.  In addition, the PI is establishing a community-based hypertension screening and treatment program in East Texas.  The Postdoctoral Research Associate Senior would participate in all aspects of currently funded projects as well as participate in additional data collection to propose future programs in the community.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:

•         Under supervision of the PI, conduct epidemiology investigation of rural health outcome disparities. 

•         Writes manuscripts and makes scientific presentations at national meetings.

•         Assist with preparation and set-up of off-campus community events related to hypertension screening program.

•         Works collaboratively with department team members and campus colleagues.

Required Education / Experience:

•         Postdoctoral degree in one of the life sciences.

·         Prior research experience is desirable.
