Job Summary
Responsibilities
Case management (60%)
Provides initial response to student and academic reports of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, including sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking through outreach and initial intake, including providing information regarding supportive measures, resources, and referrals to University resolution processes, as appropriate. For reports involving academics, conduct intakes, as needed, in coordination with Resolution Services, UChicago CARES.
Conduct and coordinate necessary safety and compliance follow-up in response to reports, including, but not limited to, conducting campus safety analysis, identifying timely warnings and campus security threats in collaboration with the Department of Safety and Security.
Autonomously determines and manages the implementation of supportive measures with campus partners.
Analyze and utilize data to design and implement projects related to matters under the related University policies and processes, and work on cross functional teams to advance the development of University policies, processes, and resolution options.
Analyze changes to Title IX, Title VII, or other related federal or state regulations related to non-discrimination, as it relates to University policy and procedure. Present changes to teams and assist with developing strategy.
Coordinates and monitors department compliance with minimal guidance.
Plans and executes internal and external audits and activities to support regulatory agency inspections with minimal guidance.
Proactively prepares, completes and submits all compliance documentation on a routine basis. Coordinates compliance committee meetings.
This work is completed independently and autonomously with minimal guidance.
Education & Programing (30%)
Lead efforts to develop and assess awareness of educational materials on services available to support individuals who have experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
Using policy, law, and data, design curriculum and use it to train students, faculty, and staff on relevant University policies regarding sexual misconduct; including reporting responsibilities, support services available, and the formal reporting process.
Lead implementation and tracking of the annual online sexual misconduct training for students.
Coordinate the review and updating of training initiatives in order to comply with both federal and state regulations.
Review and deliver training and supplemental educational sessions, which will include trauma-informed response training for those involved with receiving student complaints as well as new and innovative programing around prevention modeling and campus discourse on these topics.
Lead projects as directed by the Executive Director and Associate Provost on related University policy and process development and case management.
Chair the Advisory Board, independently recruiting, selecting, training, and managing new members.
Data & Reporting (10%)
Maintain, in partnership with Director, a case management database to organize, manage, and track reports.
Assist Director in the preparation of annual compliance reports.
Guides the implementation of compliance activities designated by the University's strategic plans. Monitors University compliance with regulations and laws.
Has a deep understanding to develop and administer policies related to affirmative action, non-discriminatory practices for persons with disabilities, and unlawful harassment or sexual misconduct.
May provide confidential counseling and expertise to those who feel they have experienced unlawful treatment based on University programs and activities.
Performs other related work as needed.

Master’s degree in a related field.
Training in Title IX certification programs strongly preferred.
Experience:
Five years work experience providing services to individuals experiencing harassment, discrimination, and sexual misconduct.
Experience developing and delivering training programs related to compliance obligations.
Must have experience and training in Title IX/Clery Act.
Preferred Competencies
Ability to work on multiple projects and cases simultaneously in an intense and fast-paced environment, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant laws in a higher education setting (e.g., Title IX, VAWA/Campus SaVE, FERPA, Clery).
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with absolute discretion.
Ability to resolve complex problems.
Leadership, program management, and conflict resolution.
Judgment and maturity in dealing effectively with student emergencies.
