The School of Health Sciences is part of a highly successful and vibrant faculty, frequently commended for our partnership working across the health and social care sector. Supported by our simulation strategy and resources, the school delivers a range of undergraduate and post graduate courses leading to registration in nursing, midwifery, and allied health.

The school is introducing a suite of Speech and Language Therapy programmes, commencing with the BSc (Hons)in September 2023 and are therefore looking to appoint a speech & language therapy educator. 

We welcome applications from experienced speech and language therapists keen to develop their role as educators as well as those considering a part-time academic position or a job-share to enable continued engagement in clinical practice. Applications without higher education teaching experience will be considered as a Teaching Fellow.

The post holder will work with our speech and language therapy lead, wider team and employers to roll out our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (including a degree apprenticeship and MSc in 2024). The programmes have been designed collaboratively with key stakeholders; the post holder will work closely with our stakeholders on a continuing basis.  You will also have opportunity to participate in research and knowledge exchange activities coordinated by the Faculty’s Institute of Lifecourse Development (ILD). 

You will have a passion for education, thrive on seeing students succeed, have ambition and an inquiring mind. You will have opportunity to complete a PGCHE and progress through our GOLD framework to achieve HEA senior fellowship, as well as contribute to faculty wide research and enterprise activities.  Opportunity also exists to undertake doctoral studies through a professional doctorate or PhD programme.
