QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in higher education.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekend as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s license.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides coaching to students to assist in their retention and academic success, work collaboratively with the academic departments and enrollment management departments to ensure positive student academic outcomes, and maintain intermediate knowledge of college information, standards, procedures and policies to assist students in their academic success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide a high level of proactive, personalized coaching for assigned caseload to achieve successful academic outcomes.

· Create and track collaborative support for at-risk students to increase their retention and academic success.

· Utilize calls, emails, texts, video calls, and in person meetings to encourage students, direct students to appropriate resources, to walk them through critical processes, and to track their outcomes.

· Assist with special retention campaigns or promotions related to student enrollment.

· Ensure that students receive accurate and timely advising services.

· Work in conjunction with the Learning Commons to refer students for tutoring when applicable.

· Maintain intermediate knowledge of academic standards, program enrollment information, admissions policies, and financial aid processes to make accurate decisions and give accurate information to students.

· Work in conjunction with the academic Deans to ensure that curriculum sheets and all academic materials remain current and applicable to degree programs.

· Provide and interpret information on articulation agreements for students who intend to transfer to another institution of higher learning.

· Participate in professional development activities that enhance the effectiveness of retention initiatives.

· Work with the Financial Aid office on the Academic Plans for students that do not meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) where the Federal Government has mandated students to maintain satisfactory academic progress toward completion of a degree.

· Participate in evening and weekend advising.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
