Purpose of Job

  • Perform painting, drywall repairs, maintenance repairs, work tickets and assignments to help create a positive learning and work environment for the PTC community.

 

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of general painting, drywall repairs, and general maintenance experience
  • Must be able to perform painting, drywall repairs, light carpentry skills such as door replacements, general maintenance repairs and performing work request tickets on campus
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to the Director of Facilities is required
  • Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Must be able to perform snow removal, plowing, and salting as needed


Responsibilities

  • Complete general maintenance work orders and assignments in a timely manner and up to required standards
  • Perform carpentry construction, drywall, plumbing, repairs and maintenance improvements, interior/exterior setups, exterior trash removal, watering plants.
  • Work on several projects simultaneously, prioritize work as required, and communicate workload status to the Director of Facilities.
  • May be required to perform overtime for special projects, student breaks, winter months for snow removal, and monthly emergency on call as required
  • Compile and record work request data using Microsoft Office software
  • Contribute to PTC’s overall success by performing additional duties as needed.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in high elevation areas: ladders and lifts for heights up to 30’.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and good manual dexterity
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions including rain, heat, and snow.


Additional Factors:

  • Must pass criminal and motor vehicle background check prior to starting position.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Must wear hard bottom work boots and uniform.
  • Must be willing to be on call for campus emergencies.\Overtime required for snow removal and special projects.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time – 40 hours per week – Monday – Friday – Eight-hour work day (generally between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) plus half-hour unpaid lunch
  • On call pay – If required to report to campus during scheduled time off, minimum pay is 4 hours.
