Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

Position Summary: Applewood Centers is looking for a Clinical Supervisor to oversee our Foster Care and Systems of Care team. Under administrative direction, the Supervisor will provide guidance, instruction and direct supervision to assigned staff. They will facilitate staff acquisition and implementation of the skills required in the delivery of ODMH defined services and ODJFS child welfare services and guide staff in the utilization of a team based care, aka a wraparound approach to service planning.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership and supervision to the program and staff including, but not limited to, hiring, supervision, retention, evaluation, disciplinary actions and termination of employees as well as weekly supervision and attendance at home visits as required.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of own and staff's assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards. All documentation to be submitted within set program deadlines.
  • Monitors and signs off on staff completion of case files, including case openings, ISPs, 90 day treatment reviews, case notes and case closings. Completes weekly reviews of record samples for each assigned clinician and follows up to ensure that corrections are completed.
  • Tracks staff productivity on a weekly basis and assists, as needed, with the development of improvement strategies.
  • Oversee staff and foster parent trainings.
  • Monitors and facilitates CPST staff development of skills in delivery of the ODMH defined CPST services, ODJFS child welfare, team based care aka wraparound, and family systems including Intensive Case Management as well as adherence to agency policies and procedures.
  • Implement agency training and recruitment plan for foster parents and adoptive parents, based on needs assessment. Develop, and maintain recruitment/marketing materials for recruitment and training plans.
  • Screens and assigns to staff cases that are appropriate for CPST (and other services as needed) and tracks all referrals that are being made to the program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Valid Ohio LISW-S, LPCC-S, or PsyD.
  • Proven effective leadership skills to ensure departmental engagement and success.
  • Strong clinical skills including expertise in systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions and substance abuse therapy. Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
