our beaches and coastal habitats to threats from coastal climate change!

We are: a multidisciplinary team based in California and led by the Greater
Farallones Association, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration,
and the U.S. Geological Survey, interested in advancing nature-based
solutions to address climate impacts to shoreline habitat.

You are: someone with numerical modeling skills interested in a 2-year,
fully funded Postdoctoral Research position focused on coastal-hazards
assessments to quantify the benefits and tradeoffs of coastal adaptation
options. If you are interested in advancing innovative research that will
be applied to support climate adaptation planning and coastal
decision-making, and getting to work with a team across local, state, and
federal organizations, please consider applying. The team is based in the
San Francisco Bay Area, but qualified and motivated remote candidates are
welcome.

Employee Status and Benefits:

The job is a full-time 2-year (September 2023 - 2025) employee position
with Greater Farallones Association (GFA). The salary range for the
position is $80,000 ? $85,000, depending on the selected candidate?s level
of relevant experience. GFA offers excellent benefits including fully paid
Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, Group Term Life Insurance, and the option
to participate in a 403(b) retirement plan.

The position will be formally classified as a NOAA Affiliate working to
support Greater Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries.
The position is eligible for holidays, vacation and sick time accruals, as
well as many professional development resources provided by both GFA and
NOAA.

The position can be fully remote or office space can be designated on-site
in GFNMS headquarters on Crissy Field in San Francisco. If remote, an
annual in-person site visit/meeting coinciding with a conference or other
meeting may be required. A computer will be provided and travel expenses
are covered.
