Postdoc Research Associate

USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, has a Postdoctoral fellow position available in the laboratory of Dr. Rongfu Wang in the Department of Medicine at USC. The focus of Dr. Wang’s laboratory is to develop cancer immunotherapy, in particular CAR-T and TCR-T cell therapy and elucidate the mechanisms that are responsible for T cell persistence and trafficking, and for immune resistance. 

Dr. Wang’s laboratory has discovered many immune targets, and used them for developing for vaccines, CAR-T and TCR-T cell immunotherapy. 

The ideal research associate and/or research scientist candidate should have experience in molecular biology, cell culture, T cell viral transduction and expansion, T cell biology, and neoantigen discovery. These positions will continue to establish T cell lines and clones from cancer tissues, T cell culture and expansion, T cell receptor (TCR) profiling and TCR functional validation, as well as work in GMP facility for developing clinical grade T cell products (CAR-T and TCR-T) for cancer immunotherapy. 

The candidate should possess excellent communication and writing skills.

Prospective candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about science, with an ability to think creatively and independently. Candidate should demonstrate good organizational skills and be able to work independently and in a team environment. Candidates with T cell biology are strongly encouraged to apply.

Preferred Field of Expertise: Molecular and/or immunology, T-cell biology and immunotherapy

Posting Salary Range: $64,480/yr to $66,000/yr

Percentage of Time: 100%

Fixed Term?     Through 6/30/24



Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Minimum Experience: 0-1 year Minimum field of expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
