Position Summary

The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to study the molecular mechanisms involved in the increased risk of cancer in patients with diabetes. The Shuck lab specializes in detailed studies of the cellular impact of reactive molecules produced during metabolic dysfunction. Specifically, we are interested in investigating the induction of covalent adducts on DNA, RNA, and protein using human prostate cancer cell lines. The position will encompass a variety of techniques including sterile cell culture, characterization of cellular changes induced by hyperglycemia, use of biochemical assays, and analytical techniques such as HPLC and mass spectrometry. The trainee will benefit from a close interaction with world-class clinical and basic science faculty and staff, and gain experience in state-of-the-art genomics and analytical techniques.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:

· A Ph.D. degree in life or biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.

· Pay Rate: $31.00 - 34.23 per hour
