Postdoctoral Fellow in Psychology

The Counseling Center at Chatham University is pleased to offer a 12-month Postdoctoral Psychology position in College Mental Health. The Chatham Counseling Center offers individual counseling, support groups, outreach, consultation, crisis intervention, and assessment services. We collaborate with Student Affairs and other departments in the university.

This year long postdoctoral fellow is a 3-day a week position and includes 12 hours per week of direct service, including individual counseling, intake/concise appointment screenings, outreach, assessment, consultation, and supervision. The postdoctoral fellow will also receive 2 hours per week of individual supervision in addition to supervision of supervision, if they are providing individual supervision to a trainee.

In addition, twice monthly didactic seminars will be provided on a variety of topics, including ADHD assessment, supervision, culturally informed care, and more.

Fellows have the opportunity to develop a specialization in supervision. This would include cofacilitating the weekly supervision seminar for first year doctoral practicum students in the fall and providing individual supervision to two first year doctoral students in the spring semester.

Qualifications:

A completed doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited graduate program is required. Applicants who are ABD will also be considered.

Applicants must be committed to upholding social justice values and have experience in providing brief therapy with undergraduate and/or graduate students in a college setting and diverse student populations.

About Chatham's Counseling Center:

The Chatham University Counseling Center has 5 permanent staff members (2 full-time

psychologists, 2 half-time psychologists and one administrative assistant). We host a robust training program, including 4 advanced practicum students and several first-year doctoral practicum students.

Our counseling center has 2 locations, Shadyside and Eastside. Our Shadyside location is between the lovely neighborhoods of Squirrel Hill and Shadyside and hosts most of our undergraduate students and some graduate students. The Eastside location is in East Liberty, a fun and vibrant neighborhood. Most of our Health Science students and our Interior Architecture students are at Eastside. Chatham itself has a third location, Eden Hall in Gibsonia.

The Falk School of Sustainability resides at Eden Hall. Students at Eden Hall have access to counseling services through HIPAA complaint virtual means, such as Zoom. We provide individual counseling, ADHD assessments, support groups, outreach programming, and supervision of practicum student(s).

We adhere to the practitioner-scholar model and focus on training strong health service psychologists. We strive to provide a capstone training experience that prepares interns as ethical, multiculturally informed, and highly skilled health service psychologists. We emphasize:
