Biochemistry & Molecular Biology has an exciting opportunity for a Post Doctoral Scholar. The incumbent takes initiative and works independently in developing new research ideas and troubleshooting new assays. Further, the incumbent facilitates the training of students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.

  • Assists in planning and designing research experiments, establishes priorities, and recommends schedules.

  • Presents research findings at local and national scientific conferences.

  • Writes technical publications and reports.

  • Designs and writes programs to perform analysis and produces written reports on results.

  • Collects pilot data to help support new and competing renewal applications.

  • Supervises undergraduate and graduate research students and performs literature reviews.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions

  • Performing a wide of variety of experiments in a research lab with a focus on molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology and mouse modeling techniques.

  • Performing in vivo experiments with mouse models.

  • Participating in laboratory management including data management form research assays, and equipment maintenance.  

  • Presenting research data in various venues are expected.

  • Assisting in publications.

  • Ensuring that all research is undertaken according to good research practices.

Education:

MD or Ph.D. in relevant field required
