Bryant University seeks to fill a full-time Lecturer in Finance position. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to departmental and University service. While we welcome applications from candidates in all areas of finance, we have a particular need for a candidate with a background in corporate finance, possibly with additional education or experience in international or multinational finance. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in our undergraduate business program (BSBA) and our MBA program.

The Finance Department currently consists of ten tenured or tenure-track faculty members and five full-time non-tenure track faculty members. Due to increasing student demand for our courses and programs, we are seeking to grow the size of the Finance Department faculty. Students interested in Finance can earn concentrations in finance as part of our undergraduate degrees in business administration (BSBA) or international business (BSIB). We also offer a specialized concentration in financial services for undergraduate students and offer graduate courses in Finance as part of Masters degree programs. Bryant does not have a Ph.D. program

Appointment
Will begin no later than August 1, 2024, but could begin as early as January 1, 2024. Rank is Lecturer. Salary is commensurate with preparation, experience, and demonstrated performance.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lectures typically teach a 4 course per semester teaching load.
  • teaching undergraduate and graduate (graduate not mandatory) finance courses
  • contributing to student growth and development through active involvement in student related activities (e.g., advising, working with student organizations)
  • providing service to the university and community.

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least a Masters Degree in Finance or a related field with demonstrated ability to teach corporate finance courses at the undergraduate and/or MBA level. A candidate with a Ph.D. or DBA degree would be preferred. Candidates who are ABD with completion expected by June 2024 would also be considered. Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and serving as active members of the Bryant community. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses at both the undergraduate (BSBA and BSIB) and graduate (MBA) level.
Successful candidates will also demonstrate the potential to conduct a variety of scholarly activities that support teaching and student success, e.g., building new programs, establishing connections with the business community and alumni, and developing new courses, designing, participating in and leading new initiatives, mentoring students, and being an active participant in departmental and institutional activities.
