Description

The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is seeking a motivated Lab Assistant III to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research by performing quantitative and statistical analysis of small animal and human PET scans. Your responsibilities will include assisting with data extraction, conducting rigorous statistical analyses, and exploring correlations between image data and biological parameters You will also present research subjects with mood and memory tasks during PET scanning sessions, and help establish and maintain clinical databases relating to patient diagnostic information. Finally, you will help coordinate prospective research trials, and residency, and fellowship program admissions, and assist with the preparation and organization of study findings for group discussions and presentations, with the goal of delivering formal oral presentations and written reports of those findings as appropriate. This is a 40% part-time limited role which may eventually convert to career. Target hourly rate: $23.82-$28.35



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required: * Knowledge of basic genetics, molecular biology and biochemical principles; * Ability to perform complex organic chemical reactions; * Ability to use basic laboratory equipment; Radiation safety workers certification; * Ability to organize raw data into a comprehensible form; * Ability to maintain laboratory readiness for future experiments; * Knowledge of human and animal biomedical image analysis techniques; * Ability to communicate effectively to convey experimental results as demonstrated by scientific writing skills and oral presentation skills; * Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows and students; * Demonstrated PET-related computer skills including knowledge of UNIX based systems, SPM, NeuroQ and CAPP as well as work in Excel, MS Word, Windows, and Mac; * Experience with preparing and obtaining proper institutional approvals and renewals required for implementation of experimental studies;
