Job Description

Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function:
Serve as the primary point of contact for Dual Enrollment and Middle/Early College students to guide, advise, educate, motivate, assess student needs, determine goals, and review prior academic experience to facilitate academic success. Ensure students are made aware of all available college resources to assist them in achieving academic success.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and one year of administrative experience in an educational setting. Additional administrative experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis up to four years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree earned from a regionally accredited institution and three years of progressive administrative experience in an educational setting

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and monitor all student activity relating to dual enrollment/dual credit/Early College/Middle College and other partnership programs within the assigned high school area; Serve as local subject matter expert for Dual Enrollment Grant and Middle College Scholarship application, verification, and certification
Create, present, manage, and implement dual enrollment orientation, high school information sessions, recruitment, admissions, registration, grant application, and materials management
Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts for high school partnership programs with other college departments; Assist with marketing efforts and producing dual enrollment resources
Spearhead retention efforts including, but not limited to, marketing, dual academic checkups, ensuring students understand benefits of the community college, TTPs, promotion of TN Promise, reverse transfer
Collaborate with area high school CTE directors to expand and accelerate dual credit/dual enrollment programs/opportunities in the high schools; Provide up-to-date information to school personnel regarding programs, policies, and procedures; Work/Collaborate with other high school and community college partnership programs; Collaborate with Homeschools, Private Institution, and Online Public High Schools to promote enrollment
Serve as liaison between all internal and external clients including students, parents, high school and college administrators, faculty, student services, and other campuses
Work with appropriate Deans to assure class scheduling needs are met
Maintain accurate student records and documentation for high school initiatives using internal student tracking software to support current retention initiatives, evaluate student progress, and evaluate the need for intervention strategies to ensure persistence to completion
Promote and maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external groups including institutional divisions, high school counselors and administrators, parents, community members, and organizations
Provide guidance to Middle and Early College students and families to ensure the students are aware of campus resources, are provided with adequate support both at the high school and college level, and collaborate with the student’s high school counselor to ensure that high school graduation requirements are also met, and graduate with a degree on time

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Ellucian Banner, Ellucian Degree Works, Argos, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, database, and internet
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Knowledge of confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA and student programs
Detailed, current knowledge of student programs, academic programs, available student resources policies, and procedures
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, colleagues and other stakeholders to facilitate student success
Knowledge of customer service principles and practices and the ability to effectively apply them in the higher education environment
Maintain current knowledge of legislation, high school procedures and best recruiting and retention practices through continuing education and training
Ability to coordinate a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the high school programs and students
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with students, parents, high school counselors, fellow employees, college administrators, and other stakeholders
Ability to develop professional documents and make presentations to diverse stakeholders including groups of staff, parents, students and other stakeholders
Ability to enhance the campus community and develop collegiate culture
Ability to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, and community partners
