Job Summary: | The Laboratory Science Open-Rank Professional in the Department of Immunology & Microbiology in the lab of Jenna Guthmiller will perform duties in an experimental lab, or wet lab, and handle a variety of chemicals and/or potential “wet” hazards. Laboratory Science Professionals perform duties in laboratories where chemicals, drugs, or other materials or biological matters are tested and analyzed. This position will utilize molecular, biochemical, genetic, immunological, and in vivo approaches to investigate immunity against influenza viruses. This research position will involve in vitro, and animal studies performed at biosafety level 2 working conditions. Rarely, experimental protocols will require working in the evening or on weekends. The employee will be working closely with the principal investigator in a small laboratory environment with growth potential. The Laboratory Science Professional will work closely with the PI and other members of the laboratory to perform experiments, advance projects, and report key findings. The Laboratory Science Professional will work in an engaged community with a variety of lab personnel, including graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research professionals. Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Entry Level: $42,088 - $53,536 Intermediate Level: $45,801 - $58,259 Senior Level: $49,515 - $62,983 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
