Primary Purpose

Support the planning, execution and completion of various Youth Justice projects as assigned by the director.

Essential Duties

  • Assist management and partner agencies to accomplish project planning and execution;
  • Support partnership implementation with research, analysis, data gathering, and other needs, as appropriate;
  • Make recommendations for methods and processes to achieve goals;
  • Assist director with:
  • + Scheduling and coordinating meetings, convenings, preparing meeting notes for circulation;
  • + Coordination of team and workgroups, including monitoring grant or contract deliverables, timeline, scheduling check-in meetings, monitoring reports due;
  • + Preparation and dissemination of reports, promotional and education materials;
  • + Coordination of data collection, data management, analyses, and reporting for Kawailoa implementation and Kellogg grant requirements;
  • + Assisting workgroups, e.g., assist with preparing presentations and collateral material for projects, and other efforts;
  • Support communications, development and maintenance of communication resources, including infographics, dashboards, PowerPoint, Canva, etc.;
  • Maintain electronic files and folders with up to date documents and record of project milestones.

Other Duties

Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm or as determined by the supervisor and scheduled meetings of Kawailoa partners;
  • Some events and standing committee meetings on weekends at various times.

Working Conditions

  • Office setting;
  • Partner or program sites;
  • Traveling in personal vehicle to and from program sites, meetings, or events;
  • Travel to the neighbor islands and U.S. continent may be required.

Equipment Use

Computer and/or laptop, office and/or work cell phone/Bluetooth, printer, scanner, copier, voice recorder.

Mental, Physical, and Communication Demands

Mental:

Physical:

  • Able to work on the computer for majority of work day;
  • Able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally;
  • Able to stand, sit, kneel and bend.

Communication:

  • Exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards program participants, staff and administration via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in communications or related field and one (1) years of experience in project management required;
  • Experience creating models, tables, and functional workbooks in Excel;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.);
  • Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily injury liability per person and $25K in property damage liability.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field and three (3) years of experience in project management;
  • Familiarity with various research methods and related protocols.
