Johnson & Wales University (JWU), one of the nation’s renowned and most respected professionally-focused universities, announces a nationwide leadership search to recruit a dean for its distinguished College of Hospitality Management.
The dean, who will be based at the university’s Providence, RI location, will provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the college in alignment with the university’s strategic initiatives. The major responsibilities emphasize academic excellence, retention and graduation rates, external relationships that advance the goals of the college, excellence of programs through program accreditation, and the development and execution of a college plan. The dean oversees administrative, operational and budgetary affairs, directs the academic programs, and fosters an environment of continuous improvement, innovation and growth. The dean further promotes and supports collegial relationships among faculty, staff and students.

The ideal candidate will have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or other appropriate accreditation as determined by JWU. A significant amount of experience working in higher education administration, hospitality or in other related work is also required.
The dean must demonstrate effectiveness in building relationships with industry partners and have the ability to create a vision, execute innovation and promote design thinking, as well has have experience leading complex projects. Desired qualifications include experience with fundraising and teaching in higher education.
