A postdoctoral position is available at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for an outstanding and highly motivated candidate to investigate the proteins of the innate immune system biochemically and structurally.  We are particularly interested in assessing proteins involved in innate immune responses and cell death (NLRs, caspases, inflammasomes, and inflammatory cell death, PANoptosis).  Please see the following articles:

The ideal candidate will have experience with biochemical and biophysical methodologies, such as:

  • Protein purification
  • Protein tagging and expression in multiple cell lines, including baculovirus and mammalian expression system experience
  • Cryo-EM
  • Mass spectrometry sample preparation pipelines
  • Protein-protein interaction studies
  • Co-immunoprecipitation experiments

The laboratory of Dr. Thirumala-Devi Kanneganti  offers a remarkable training environment for postdoctoral fellows focused on the innate immune system, including an opportunity to collaborate with researchers in the departments of Immunology, Structural Biology, Infectious Diseases, and cancer biology. Minimum Education

Candidates should have a recent PhD, DVM, MD/PhD in biomedical sciences, ideally Biochemistry, Structural Biology, or Immunology, and must be hard working and highly motivated.
