Description:

General Purpose:

The Director, under the supervision of the Senior Director of Program Services, develops, implements and monitors diversified programs and activities offered within our 30+ Clubs.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Director will ensure Club Members are provided impactful and varied programming including:
  • Develop and monitor a written Annual Program Plan with tangible, measurable goals.
  • Evaluate Club programs to meet community needs on a continual basis.
  • Advance existing high-yield learning activities and curriculum.
  • Train Club staff to implement related programming and initiatives across all Clubs.
  • Create new programming and hire/supervise staff or outside specialists as needed.
  • Ensure program participation meets specific grant requirements and key outcomes.
  • Provide participation and other reporting data, as required.
  • Plan opportunities for self care and family engagement at Clubs and in the community.
  • Responsible for marketing both program and activity information to the community.
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships for program collaboration, such as wrap-around service providers, therapists, nutritionists, chefs, etc.
  • Manage, maintain and track inventory of all supplies and materials. Includes managing ordering & distributing supplies for annual programs and replenishing program kits for Clubs as needed.
  • Recruit, hire and train all related staff and volunteers, in partnership with Human Resources.

 

Areas include but are not limited to:

Social Emotional Wellness: Trauma Informed behavior support, Member behavior agreements, ACEs response practices, Mental Health awareness, social competence

 

Physical Health: Healthy Habits, Triple Play, Cooking and LifeSkill programming

 

Prevention & Intervention Programming: Coordination of individual and group intervention, Passport to Manhood, SMART Girls, SMART Moves

 

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Further the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin’s mission of impacting the lives of youth who need us most.
  2. Be a role model by always maintaining enthusiasm and a positive attitude with youth and within the Club community.
  3. Convey warmth, caring & proper guidance in all interactions with Members focusing especially on developing social-emotional skills.
  4. Ensure the safety of all Members at all times.

 

Requirements:

Education and/or Expertise:

Demonstrated background in Social-Emotional Development.

Expertise in Trauma-Informed practices.

Four-year degree in Psychology (or related field) from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience in designing and implementing programming.

Experience in developing and managing complex programs across multiple sites.

Experience in recruiting and managing Independent contractors.

A minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization managing complex projects and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people

Computer & Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Office, Sharepoint

Requirements:

Mandatory negative TB test

Must pass instructional Assistant Exam

Must provide own vehicle, have a valid state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential physical functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.

Requires ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, squat, pull/push, grasp up to 4-8 hours per day.
