The Opportunity

The School of Teacher Education (STE) in the College of Community Innovation and Education at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer position, anticipated to begin Fall 2023.

The selected candidate will contribute to STE and the Secondary Education program’s mission and vision at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Teach physical education or activity courses.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (in Physical Education/Activity, Research/Action Research, Data Analysis), advising, supervising field and internship students, and program assessment.

• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in student research when the opportunity arises.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Lead the Physical Education program, work collaboratively with the faculty to make any program decisions and ensure program requirements are met.

• Teach physical education or activity courses (e.g., Yoga, Aerobics, Pilates).

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (in Physical Education/Activity, Research/Action Research, Data Analysis).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or Ed.D. from an accredited institution in a related field by time of appointment.

• Experienced in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (in Physical Education, Activity Courses such as yoga, etc.).

• Experienced in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (in Research/Action Research, Data Analysis, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership or facilitation experience of a program (e.g., Secondary Education) or degree (e.g., Physical Education).

• Evidence of commitment to communicate and work collaboratively with faculty, various programs, and students.

• Evidence of engaging with and leading (undergraduate and/or graduate) students towards degree requirements.

• Evidence of experiences to engage students in research methodologies such as quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methodologies.

• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses (in Physical Education, Activity Courses such as yoga, etc.).

• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., in Research/Action Research, Data Analysis).

• Show evidence or potential for engaging in interdisciplinary endeavors.

• Show commitment to working collaboratively with faculty, various programs, and students.
