Cosmetology Instructor
Job Description
Minnesota State College Southeast (Winona campus) invites applicants for the Unlimited, Full-time Cosmetology Instructor position. We are looking for an applicant that is dedicated to providing excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Minnesota State College Southeast are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The instructor may earn unlimited status upon completion of six successful probationary semesters.

- Participate in program curriculum development
- Deliver classroom, web-enhanced and/or online course instruction.
- Conduct classroom learning activities, assessment and student outcome evaluations.
- Mentor and advise students.
- Participate in committee assignments and college-wide initiatives.
- Participate in departmental program review and evaluation.
- Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.
Course assignments may include day, evening, and weekend hours; and off-site locations. The position requires an Advanced Esthiology Instructor License.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirement
Diploma in Cosmetology
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a cosmetologist
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
Cosmetology Instructor license from the Minnesota Board of Cosmetologist Examiners or ability to receive license by date of hire
