RATE OF PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE Serenity House Impact Youth Prevention is currently hiring full-time and part-time Prevention Specialists that seek to make a difference in the lives of students by providing evidence-based curriculum in schools and community sites. Promoting prevention includes presenting topics on life skills including: goal setting, decision making, friendship, intelligence, self-esteem, and information about tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. The goal is to provide these lessons in order to maximize protective factors and reduce risk factors for substance abuse. We are seeking motivated, energetic, empathic individuals to become a member of our prevention family. Qualifications:

· Professional, teachable, adaptable, and self-starter

· Gifted teacher and ability to implement curriculum to students

· Excellent and thoughtful communicator with Program Directors, teachers, and students

· Possess organizational skills

· Adheres to weekly, monthly and quarterly deadlines

· Adapt and teach in different classroom settings for students and adults

· Develops creative approaches to love/reach children and teenagers

· Good moral and social character

· Ability to perform CPR and First Aid

· Maintains energy, enthusiasm, and respect in the classroom

· Sensitive to issues of particular importance to high-risk children from substance abusing families and other dysfunctional environments

· Follows policy promoting cultural awareness and sensitivity in all agency operations

· Follows the Federal Confidentiality Law (42 CFR-Part 2, Federal Register)

· Efficient in Access, Excel, and Word

Job Description and Responsibilities:

· The Prevention Specialist position provides prevention services to Parker County and surrounding area with curriculum certified by the State of Texas to build resiliency with students in schools and community sites

· PS will manage a classroom with each school site they are scheduled on a weekly basis

· PS will have a high degree of communication with school counselors, teachers and prevention staff

· PS will manage time and resources by planning ahead

· High school diploma required, Degree recommended

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $31,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
