Campus Inspection Assistant

Job Description

The Campus Inspection Assistant performs a variety of tasks related to the inspection of the college facilities. Position works with the Building and Campus Services Manager to ensure timely completion of tasks related to custodial service and maintenance of the college buildings.

None.

Minimum Education/Experience

Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semester.

OR

Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the various campuses.

This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to Facilities Management staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.

This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that frequently involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.

This position requires the person to occasionally ascend/descend a ladder to perform the essential functions of the position.

This position requires the person to frequently position self to move, lift, push, pull, work on, or operate equipment.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position’s essential functions are performed outdoors and subject to extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees) and extreme hot temperatures (temperatures above 100 degrees).

This position requires the person to communicate above ambient noise levels and exchange accurate information in various situations.

Preferred Qualifications

Attention to detail.

Ability to read simple drawings and plans.

Valid driver’s license.

Required Training Work Hours

25 Hours a week arranged around school schedule.
