Job Summary

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will help design and conduct research within the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Health Outcomes department. This research will be conducted in the field of nanomedicine with a focus on engineering biomimetic drug delivery system equipped with drugs, contrast agents (Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Nuclear imaging), broadly defined as theranostic nanomedicine. This position will oversee research and research staff within the department.

The initial appointment is for one year, renewal expected if progress is satisfactory, and funds are available.

 

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

  • Help design and conduct research within a specified field.
  • Receive advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator.
  • Responsible for leading a project (in vitro and in vivo).
  • Operate specific equipment within the Chemistry lab.
  • Teach techniques to others within the department.
  • Train and supervise junior research staffs including students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Required Education/Experience

  • PH.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Materials Chemistry.

 

Other Information

  • May be exposed to chemicals and hazardous material.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
