Posting Summary
Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Program Coordinator for Re-enrollment. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Services & Experience, the Program Coordinator will be the lead for all undergraduate re-enrollment campaigns and the lead for the RUN Rising program. The position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • Oversee and lead the outreach efforts and enrollment strategies for the undergraduate re-enrollment campaigns and the RUN Rising program;
  • Works closely with the Vice Chancellor on re-enrollment efforts connected to the OSHE and Governor’s priorities for students who have earned credit, but have not earned an undergraduate degree;
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of all active undergraduate re-enrollment marketing campaigns, including effectiveness of tracking, brand awareness, student engagement, and reporting;
  • Provides overall direction and oversight for marketing plan development related to undergraduate re-enrollment campaigns and RUN Rising program
  • Assists with implementing programming and gathering data for grants that focus on re-enrollment efforts for undergraduate students who have earned credit, but no degree;
  • Conducts strategy research to develop messaging strategies targeting the undergraduate students in a complex geographic demographics of Rutgers University-Newark stop-out population;
  • Coordinates the planning, preparation, evaluation, and control of communications, events, records, statistics, reports, enrollment management, marketing, and student services for re-enrollment outreach and all RUN Rising program needs;
  • Works closely with the Offices of the Registrar, Institutional Research, Financial Aid and Student Accounting to review and evaluate data related to students who have stopped out before completing their degree at RU-N;
  • Relationship lead for 3rd party vendors working with RU-N on re-enrollment efforts;
  • Coordinates the information sessions on re-enrollment and the RUN Rising program and will lead collaboration efforts about re-enrollment and RUN Rising with Newark City of Learning Collaborative (NCLC), Rutgers-Newark Undergraduate Admission Office, and undergraduate Advising Offices
  • Updates and maintains the application process for the RUN Rising program and review all submitted applications to ensure returning students meet the criteria of the RUN Rising program;
  • Coordinates onboarding and program support of students returning to Rutgers-Newark for re-enrollment, especially via the RUN Rising program that includes the coordination of yearly orientation, semesterly program goals for enrolled students, scheduling quarterly meetings with appropriate campus stakeholders, and maintains the RUN Rising site;
  • Develops processes, evaluates program effectiveness, and identifies and recruits additional program resources for the RUN Rising program;
  • Assists with the undertaking of on-site evaluations of programs and services, assesses service levels and program progress, and prepares appropriate recommendations for the undergraduate re-enrollment process and RUN Rising;
  • Must be able to balance multiple and shifting priorities.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, writing, and marketing/promotions.
  • Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in website design and development, Photoshop, database design and management systems, and web-based content management systems.
  • Knowledge of a variety of university on-line systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Rutgers University enterprise administrative systems; database design and management proficient; marketing planning and design experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment with relatively short turn-around time on program objectives and academic sessions.
Equipment Utilized
  • MS Office Suite, FTP file transfer software, IMS, Course Scheduling System (CSS), WordPress, RIAS, Blackboard, and Photoshop.
