Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology to work directly with the Director of the Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness (CYSEW). This position will coordinate and implement federally funded clinical trials and support services for college students with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and organize and manage CYSEW day-to-day activities, including social media and event planning. CYSEW works with the New Jersey community to ensure that youth have a fair and just opportunity to reach their highest level of mental health and emotional well-being. The mission of CYSEW is to promote youth mental health equity; defined as the right to access quality mental health care regardless of the individual’s race, ethnicity, linguistic literacy/proficiency, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, disability status, or geographical location.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Responsible for recruiting, screening, scheduling, and maintaining ongoing contact with participants for research projects and service delivery agreements with the community.
  • Oversees data management for CYSEW, including the development of electronic surveys and databases, data tracking, cleaning, and basic analysis.
  • Prepares IRB applications, renewals, and amendments.
  • Trains students and staff in CYSEW and schedules them for study evaluations.
  • Manages the CYSEW social media platforms and leading communications efforts.
  • Leads community event planning and implementation.
  • Collaborating to implement diagnostic evaluation and interventions services

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in psychology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience working in the area of human subjects research, particularly project coordination and data management.
  • Must have knowledge of general principles and practices associated with clinical psychology.
  • Experience leading marketing and communications efforts, including social media and event planning is strongly desired.
  • Must have experience developing and submitting IRB proposals and working with research databases such as Qualtrics and REDCap.
  • Must have experience interacting with diverse clinical populations and strong communication skills as the position will take a leadership role in working with participants, Rutgers college students, and New Jersey community mental health organizations and schools.
  • Must have prior administrative experience and strong organization and time-management skills as this person will take a leadership role in coordinating all CYSEW activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA or Master’s degree.
  • Clinical experience and/or training in psychoeducational and/or diagnostic assessment with individuals with ADHD is strongly desired.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience working with youth, adolescent, and emerging adults with social-emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Equipment Utilized
  • Must have advanced skills using Microsoft Excel.
