Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Coordinator for the Urban-Global Public Health department within the School of Public Health. Under the direction of the Principal Investigators, the Research Coordinator will work on multiple NIH-funded research projects focused on health and wellness among sexual and gender minorities, with a particular focus on research within communities of color.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Oversees the implementation of a daily survey study. This includes tracking daily responses and coordinating with research assistants at community-based organizations (CBOs).
  • Oversees implementation of an annual survey among aging sexual minority men at participating study sites.
  • Coordinates with staff at CBOs and cohort sites to meet goals for recruitment and data collection.
  • Conducts regular reviews of the data to ensure data quality.
  • Programs and updates online Qualtrics survey system as needed to ensure that all surveys are administered properly.
  • Aids in the implementation of a daily text message and e-mail reminder system.
  • Coordinates and assists with focus groups.
  • Maintains a strong social justice orientation that centers health equity for LGBTQ2IA+ communities of color

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience, with Bachelor’s Degree in similar activities in scientific research or Two (2) or more years of experience, with Master’s Degree in similar activities in scientific research
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with basic MS Office software.
  • Experience with Statistical Computing Programs (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management experience.
  • Human subjects research experience.
  • CITI Human Subjects Research Certification.
  • Experience with human subjects Institutional Review Board protocols.
  • Experience with Electronic data collection platforms (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics).
Equipment Utilized

  • Must be willing and able to travel to research sites.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
