Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Project Manager for the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Counseling Professions within the School of Health Professions. Under the direction of the Department Vice Chairperson, the Project Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a state-wide performance improvement project related to the New Jersey Psychiatric Crisis Response System objectives. The Project Manager, in coordination with the Director, defines the project scope and objectives, facilitates the implementation of the project, oversees the activities of the team, and contributes subject matter expertise to address identified needs within the NJ psychiatric crisis response system. This position is funded through a contract. The Project Manager will utilize evidenced-based approaches to conduct their activities. This position requires an understanding of NJ’s psychiatric crisis system, the County System Review Committees, and related systems.
Among the key duties of this position are the following;
  • Defines project scope and objectives based on the deliverables of the contract.
  • Predicts resources and technology needed to reach objectives and manages resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensures adherence to the budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Develops and manages a detailed project schedule and work plan using a system of reminders and progress updates.
  • Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders (NJDMHAS, Department Chair, Director, team members) about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Manages contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables to staff and funder.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility in behavioral sciences or a related discipline coordinating performance improvement, adult-directed training, educational programs and/or consulting with behavioral health settings.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric crisis services and County System Review Committees in NJ.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or a related field with a strong focus on behavioral health.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
