Responsibilities*

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES
Plan, organize and coordinate facilities and catering operations for the over 128,000 sq feet School of Social Work building including long term facility use planning, remodeling/renovation and assisting with appropriate budgetary preparation and cost containment measures.  Complete annual space management survey.  Make recommendations on space use, allocations and improvements; resolve facility operation problems working closely with appropriate University and/or school departments; develop, implement and maintain building security programs and energy conservation programs; plan, coordinate and oversee custodial maintenance grounds and housekeeping activities; manage room scheduling; respond to inquiries and complaints and resolve problems in facility operations and service; review and approve expenditure for building and equipment maintenance; hire, train, schedule and evaluate support staff; special projects or assignments as needed.  Act as lead on all building renovations.  Provide recommendations on classroom technology and furniture updates.  Act as advisory liaison to Plant/Building Services and other Plant Operations as well as liaison to other university departments and outside vendors.  Manage all telephone/telecommunications orders/changes/repairs.  Manage in-building events; setting and striking of furniture; ordering of catering.

Required Qualifications*

Knowledge of University policies and procedures.  Knowledge of standard facility rules, regulations and policies and 5-8 years of previous experience in UM facilities management.


QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Knowledge of University producers, rules and regulations is desirable.
Some supervisory experience is desirable
Some filing/recordkeeping experience is desirable
Excellent computer skills to include experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  
Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.  
Pleasant and professional demeanor.  
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.
