We are seeking a creative Test Engineer to join the Engineering and Test Group where we specialize in advancing technological capabilities for Navy operations through development and testing of sophisticated sensor systems and complex electro-mechanical systems for maritime and undersea applications. As a member of our team, you'll contribute to critical system development and experimental efforts. You will be joining a diverse team committed to crafting an environment of innovation.

 

As an Dep Ocean Test Engineer...

 

  • Your primary responsibility will be working with a diverse team to develop test plans and execute test events with deep submersion systems. Assist in the brainstorming and development of new initiatives/concepts in maritime sensing through research and development (R&D) efforts.
  • Demonstrate your ability in maritime systems and apply innovative thinking to the testing of deep submergence systems through the development of testing strategies and execution of structured test events.
  • Lead testing events through coordination of the testing facilities/assets, the technical team for the system under test, and supporting resources to ensure tests are documented and conducted in a safe manner.
  • Collaborate with multiple DoD system partners to evaluate current testing strategies, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans for these risks.
  • Develop both high level testing plans and detailed test execution procedures to ensure that program objectives are satisfactorily addressed through simulation, subsystem integration testing, and full system testing.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

 

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering,computer engineering, computer science or related technical field.
  • Have at least 3 years of demonstrated experience with deep submergence systems in a professional environment.
  • Hands-on experience with design, development, deployment, operations and testing or deep ocean systems including UUVs, ROVs, and related equipment.
  • Have detailed knowledge of deep ocean and ocean bed operations with their related safety and cost considerations in a broad set of applications including test and evaluation with ROVs and UUVs.
  • Show demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and possess strong interpersonal, speaking, and technical writing skills.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

  • Hold a Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering,computer engineering, computer science or related technical field.
  • Are experienced with deep ocean UUV and ROV operations.
  • Have 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
