We are seeking a highly motivated systems engineer to help us develop and integrate sophisticated RF systems using model-based systems engineering (MBSE). You can have an opportunity to impact the next RF system as you learn and apply model-based engineering skills! You will represent APL to provide direct systems engineering support to the sponsor and to coordinate engineering services with APL team members to serve the technical needs of the program. As a Systems Engineer, you will...

 

  • Develop systems engineering, integration, and test and evaluation processes and artifacts
  • Design architecture and engineering models to instantiate and assess system configurations, performance and evolutionary capabilities. Determine system requirements and increase total system effectiveness. Develop risk assessments within the framework of current and projected threat environments.
  • Apply modeling, simulation and analytic techniques to the assessment of emerging technologies for application to new threat areas.
  • Work with industry, academic, and government laboratory staff to find opportunities to apply promising emerging technologies to sophisticated RF systems applications.

 


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

 

 

  • Have a B.S. degree in Systems Engineering, electrical engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physical Science or related field
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of systems engineering.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to interact with sponsor representatives
  • Are able and willing to travel less than 10% of the time to present work to customers, provide technical advice during new system development/system modifications, and support laboratory/field testing
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain Secret can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

 

  • Have an M.S. in Systems Engineering or a related field
  • Have 3 plus years of professional experience related to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including a solid understanding of tools (such as MagicDraw, DOORS, CORE, System Architect, and Enterprise Architect), architecture frameworks, and analysis approaches.
  •  
  • Have knowledge of space-borne sensor systems and communications networks
  • Have working knowledge of RF systems including active and passive sensor systems and communications networks
  • Have knowledge of DoD Planning, Programming and Budgeting, Acquisition Decision, Research and Development, Test and Evaluation systems
  • Have demonstrated ability to interface effectively with government sponsors
  • Hold a current TS/SCI
