We are seeking a creative, outside-of-the-box thinker and problem solver to help us develop/utilize innovative analytical methods within the Air and Missile Defense Sector, the Sensor Systems Engineering Group (A2B). As a member of our team, you will contribute to Missile Defense radar T&E utilizing modeling & simulation tools, and recorded flight test data to assess radar system performance. You will engage with a hardworking and enterprising team of scientists and engineers who are developing high-impact solutions for the Nation 's defense. As a Radar T&E Engineer...

 

  • You will provide inputs on Missile Defense radar system capabilities in construction of scenarios to meet system test objectives. Utilize existing high fidelity radar system simulations to predict surveillance, tracking, and discrimination performance for flight test scenarios.
  • Conduct post-test analysis of recorded radar data to assess the fulfillment of mission objectives. Validate pre-test simulation predictions with observed radar performance. Update models and simulations to accurately reflect actual radar system behavior as required.
  • Communicate radar analysis, conclusions, and recommendations at pre-and post-test mission reviews. Collaborate with counterparts in the technical community, US Navy, and Missile Defense Agency program offices as needed.
  • You will participate in design reviews, technical interchanges, working groups, and program status meetings.

 


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

 

  • Have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in data analysis or electrical engineering
  • Aerospace, Hypersonics, Radar and RF background
  • Are challenge-driven, have curiosity in data science, numerical analysis, linear algebra, engineering statistics & probability, Random & stochastic processes.
  • Have familiarity with Python, MATLAB, MATLAB Toolboxes, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively interact with sponsors, management, and working group team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Have strong verbal and writing skills. Independent self-starter able to work with minimal direction
  • The ability to travel up to 5% of the time as needed
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret, clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

  • Have an M.S. in the fields listed above
  • Can manage and manipulate large data sets and utilize various machine learning techniques.
  • Have 2+ years' experience scripting and coding in a variety of languages, applying signal processing, ML, stochastic processes, AI, or related subject areas to algorithm development for radar domain problems for phased arrays, dense mediums, digital radar, multi-static radar.
  • Current Secret clearance with an ability to obtain higher-level clearances
