Basic Function

Under the direction of the assigned administrator plan, organize, direct and supervise the activities of the assigned student services program; to promote the program on and off campus; and to do other work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Any combination equivalent to: graduation from a four-year college and two years of increasingly responsible experience in program management, preferable in a higher education setting.

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ experience with a student services program, or closely related programs, OR five years’ experience with student services, or closely related programs.

  • Ability to relate well with peers, co-workers and nontraditional students, to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to adapt to varied situations, to plan and organize work, and to function independently; and knowledge of student services programs.

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Essential Duties

Specific duties include but are not limited to:
  • Plans, implements and evaluates assigned student services program. E
  • Promotes assigned student services program on campus and in the community. E
  • Prepares and maintains program services outlines; selects and maintains curricula needed for programs. E
  • Develops an advisory committee; schedules and conducts advisory committee meetings to support and plan programs. E
  • Develops the preliminary budget for the area and manages the adopted budget. E
  • Represents the College program at regional and statewide meetings and attends all required and needed training for programs. E
  • Maintains, prepares and submits required program and fiscal reports. E
  • Prepares and/or arranges for printing and distribution of brochures and flyers. E
  • Recommends for employment and supervises, trains and evaluates trainers and program staff. E
  • Participates in College activities and committees, being a liaison between program and College staff. E
  • Communicates and works with the Chancellor’s Office and the College Foundation. E
  • Promotes diversity, equity and inclusion. E
  • Develops, implements and updates a personal professional development plan. E

  • Operate a variety of modern office equipment and software.


Foreign Degrees

Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an Evaluation Service prior to the closing date. Certification must be attached with copies of transcripts.

License Certificates/Credentials

Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the implementation of dual enrollment and College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) dual enrollment programs.
  • Proven success in leading a team of staff to support students through the community college application and registration process. 
  • Experience collaborating and communicating with college faculty and administrators in support of dual enrollment programming. 
  • Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

Working Conditions

District office environment and domestic travel may be required. Work under steady pressure with frequent interruptions and a high degree of public contact by phone, in person or virtually.

Special Requirements
Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment including ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, and lift 20 lbs.; ability to travel to different sites and locations.
