Position Details
The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Wesleyan University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor beginning July 1, 2024. The candidate will develop an independent research program supported by extramural funding that integrates current biochemical or biophysical approaches to address fundamental problems in molecular biology; we are particularly interested in candidates whose research addresses RNA structure and function, membrane biology, enzyme mechanisms, infection and immunity, intrinsically disordered proteins, or metabolomics and proteomics. We seek an individual who can contribute to both our undergraduate and graduate course curriculum, including advanced biochemistry courses.
The new hire will participate in our Ph.D. training program and cross-disciplinary initiatives in the life sciences. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students, as well as participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry or a related field and postdoctoral experience, and must demonstrate excellence in both teaching and research.
