Job Description

The University of Pittsburgh, Division of Cardiology, Center for Ultrasound Imaging and Therapeutics is looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to lead and perform studies using ultrasound to deliver oligonucleotide therapies for inhibition of tumor growth in in vivo pre-clinical models.  The laboratory is developing an image-guided delivery platform using ultrasound and drug-loaded ultrasound contrast agents (microbubbles) which are induced to cavitate in an ultrasound field during systemic circulation.  Experiments will involve design and synthesis of microRNA-loaded microbubbles, then infusion of microbubbles during simultaneous external ultrasound delivery to tumor targets in rodent models.  Analyses will include tumor volume measurements and molecular and histologic studies.

Requirements:  PhD in Bioengineering, Physiology, Biology, Biophysics or related field.  Experience in animal experiments, ultrasound imaging, tumor biology, molecular biology, theranostics, drug delivery, gene therapy, microscopy, cell culture, or related fields topics would be helpful.

Interested applicants should apply via join.pitt.edu under requisition #23003383
