What we want

This Postdoctoral Research Associate will support a joint research project between the labs of Drs. Phil Lewis, Brian Anderson, and Changbum Ryan Ahn. Their main duties include, but not limited to, (1) experiment design and administration involving virtual reality (VR) environment and EEG measurements,  (2) publication of experiment outcomes, and (3) mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Please note the relevant knowledge, skills and abilities. The postdoc will be based at Texas A&M University, and there will be opportunity to launch new research projects of mutual interest in addition to supporting ongoing research. What you need to know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Track record of producing high-quality, peer-reviewed scientific publications.

  • Proficient with computer programming (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++, JavaScript).

  • Experience using virtual reality or augmented reality techniques preferred.

  • Familiarity with EEG or the use of aversive conditioning techniques involving electrical stimulation would be an asset, but is not necessary.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Drive to create own novel research direction.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Leadership - Responsible for performing a leadership role and providing the support and management skills necessary to accomplish the objectives of the assigned projects.

  • Research - Assist in developing new research project proposals. Publish research results in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

  • Mentorship - Serve as a mentor to Ph.D. students and supervise undergraduate students in the context of collaborative research efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.
