Job Title: Post Doctoral Fellow-Clinical Research Fellow

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will contribute to clinical trials in the role of a research coordinator and/or sub-investigator in the Department of Dermatology under the direction of Drs. Robert Dellavalle, Stanca Birlea, and Emily Gurnee.  There is a 1-year commitment from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, with the option to extend an additional year. Trainees will learn to conduct clinical research using a variety of methodologies and outcomes measures. They will have the opportunity to publish research in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present research at local and national meetings. Completing the research fellowship does not guarantee a residency position within the University of Colorado Department of Dermatology. Our trainees have gone on to successful clinical and clinical research careers under the mentorship of faculty within the University of Colorado Department of Dermatology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project initiation (e.g., IRB approval, OnCore, clinical study registration, research staff training, creating manuals of operation)
  • Project execution (e.g., carrying out/overseeing daily research activities, stakeholder engagement activities, team communication activities)
  • Works together as part of the team and collaborates with PIs
  • Maintains study integrity, patient safety, and assists with patient assessments and data collection
  • Remains in compliance with all training requirements, meets established deadlines for data submission, possesses a strong understanding of clinical research regulations and ethics
  • Participates in the supervision and mentorship of clinical research staff and student assistants.

The Clinical Research Unit in the Department of Dermatology in the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a 1-year post-doctoral fellow to become involved in a range of dermatology translational research opportunities. Our clinical trials unit is a site for phase II-IV pharmaceutical-sponsored clinical trials and our researchers are involved in several exciting investigator-initiated studies mostly in the field of immune-mediated inflammatory skin diseases.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary for this position has been established as $56,484.

    The above starting salary represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
