The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for performing experimental research in the areas of quantum physics and quantum optics under the supervision of Dr. Marlan Scully. What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Appropriate PhD.

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • PhD in experimental physics or related field

  • Experience in Experimental Atomic and Molecular Physics and quantum Optics, e.g. , as relates to solving problems in quantum light generations and applications

  • Knowledge of quantum optics, quantum light sources, (e.g. entangled light, squeezed light, etc..) non-Linear optics, Raman and IR spectroscopy, microscopy and bio-imaging

  • Experimental hardware control and image processing experience

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Performs experiments in the general field of quantum physics and quantum optics. Develops experiments and techniques for bio-imaging applications of quantum light. Develops and improves quantum light sources.  Required to interact with and supervise graduate students including training/mentoring PhD students.

  • Research Manuscript Work: Writes scientific papers and participates in conferences. Prepares PowerPoint presentations/slides. Makes calculations and related analysis as instructed.

  • Service: Assists in hosting Institute visitors and with making IQSE sponsored activities successful, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
