Job Description

Position Summary

Victoria College's Enrollment Services Department is recruiting for a part-time Enrollment Guide.  This position is responsible for connecting, engaging, and guiding prospective students in the enrollment process, including areas of Admissions, Enrollment, and Financial Aid. The Enrollment Guide will offer tailored assistance fostering a welcoming environment. This position is supported by a five-year US Department of Education Title V grant ending 9/30/2026, with annual continuation funding after 9/30/2026 contingent on funding availability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Provides information to prospective students and family members on specific educational opportunities of Victoria College, both on and off the campus to include, but not limited to admissions requirements, financial aid process, advising/career possibilities, and assessment requirements
  2. Assists with serving as a Welcome Center representative by greeting and providing information about general Victoria College information to guests, prospective students, and their family members
  3.  Communicate with prospective students via phone calls, e-mail, and live chat in a timely manner, and follows up when appropriate
  4.  Works with the College, Career, and Financial Health (CCFH) Coordinator to assist in organizing meetings with school counselors and teachers to promote the Jr. Pirate Financial Literacy Program and coordinate visits to administer program sessions
  5.  Works with other Enrollment Services team members to promote recruitment and retention to the Victoria College service area
  6.  Travels within designated geographic territory to service area schools and community entities to aid in recruitment and retention to the Victoria College service area
  7.  Maintain records in various student information systems in efforts to increase enrollment, track student progress, and improve retention rates
  8.  Inputs notes and analyze data regarding student interactions and referral resources
  9.  Works closely with other Student Services areas during peak times
  10.  Assists with New Student Information workshops and other campus activities
  11.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Services and CCFH Coordinator
  12.  This position will access student records at times and will follow all FERPA guidelines

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Ability to work nights & weekends
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Must have reliable transportation. 
  • Must enjoy talking to and helping people from a wide range of backgrounds and ages
  • Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
  • A clear understanding of the mission of community colleges
  • Prefer applicants with experience working with students and working with a diverse population

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
