Full Job Description

SUMMARY: The Adult Education staff report to the Director of Adult Education for the district and perform duties associated with the operation of the Adult Education program for the Copiah-Lincoln Community College District.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Participates in registration and student advisement sessions
2. Provides pre-testing and post-testing as necessary.
3. Plans and conducts lessons appropriate to each student's individual learning level.
4. Provides direct instruction and assistance to learners based on individual needs.
5. Develops instructional planning documents for each learner and maintains current documentation.
6. Provides instruction in the Smart Start Pathway as necessary for the county.
7. Maintains folders for each student according to state policy.
8. Collects LACES data and submits/inputs in a timely manner.
9. Participates in 30 hours of staff development through state-wide conferences, regional workshops, or local in-service training.
10. Assists in promoting the program to individuals in the community.
11. Stays abreast of technology through regular communication with the program office.
12. Assists the director with local staff development opportunities as assigned.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Teaching experience
  • Superior organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and other agencies

PREFERED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in education
  • Three (3) years of professional work experience in an educational field
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong computer technology skills.

ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS:

  • The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
