Job Description


Children’s Therapy Center is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to join our team. Our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has the overall strategic and operational responsibility for Children’s Therapy Center including establishing the strategic vision, plan and long-range goals; ensuring financial sustainability; coaching and developing widely diverse talent; promoting community partnerships; growing to serve the needs of diverse children and their families in the various communities we serve; and ensuring a strong, working relationship between the CTC Leadership and Governing Board. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ideal CEO candidate will have demonstrated experience with diverse governing boards; successful operations experience including growing programs in service to the organization’s mission; and demonstrated commitment to the principles of racial equity, antiracism, social justice, and servant leadership.

Our next CEO will continue to lead the growth and development of Children’s Therapy Center, strategically guiding the organization as the Washington State leader of family-centered therapy including Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) services, securing our ability to provide exceptional services in diverse communities for generations to come.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Strategy, Leadership & Staff Development

  • In collaboration with the organization’s leadership, drive the work and vision for racial equity, anti-racism, and social justice across the organization.
  • Guide strategic plan development and execution, ensuring the mission and core values of Children’s Therapy Center are practiced across the organization.
  • Develop goals, objectives and operational plans for the organization that ensure ongoing excellence in programs, people strategies, finance, administration, fundraising, and communications.
  • Ensure all programs and program staff are working collaboratively, promoting the mission, and achieving organization goals and objectives.
  • Actively encourage an anti-racist and social justice focused culture and programs to successfully recruit, develop, and retain diverse top talent that mirrors the diversity of the communities served.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain CTC’s strategic leadership team and develop future leaders within the organization.
  • Coach, mentor, and empower staff to ensure our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the industry, field, and relevant political landscape.
  • Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors.
  • Fully inform the Board of Directors of the condition of the organization and all matters of importance influencing it.

Financial Responsibility, Operations & Governance

  • Determine tangible financial goals for the organization, develop new revenue opportunities, and evaluate effectiveness of marketing and giving campaigns.
  • Oversee the fiscal activities of the organization including budgeting, reporting audit, and other guidelines according to laws and regulations.
  • Oversee, update, and maintain technology and business systems for efficient organizational operation.
  • Identify and manage the principal business risks of the organization; implement and manage appropriate systems and procedures to mitigate risks.

Community Engagement & Fundraising

  • Serve as a chief spokesperson for Children’s Therapy Center, assuring proper representation and reputation in the community.
  • Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support program operations and growth.
  • Engage with and energize CTC’s funders, partnering organizations, volunteers, clients, and Board members.
  • Represent the programs and mission of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the general public.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, elected officials, community leaders, and leaders in the fields of practice locally, nationally, and internationally.

Qualifications


Our successful CEO candidate will be thoroughly committed to Children’s Therapy Center’s mission. They must have demonstrated successful leadership in a nonprofit or for-profit organization and a track record of seeing solutions in unexpected opportunities. Comfortable with delegating appropriate levels of responsibility and authority to staff, the CEO will be equally adept at establishing trust, demonstrating integrity, and successfully working with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. They will be a forward-thinking, tenacious, and optimistic leader committed to achieving CTC’s objectives, and effective in leading and growing an organization with 200+ staff and a $14M budget.

Demonstrable experience and other qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience with a track record of successful leadership through the execution of high-quality programs.
  • Success in developing and implementing strategies for short-term, long-term, and sustained growth.
  • Commitment to quality programs and data-driven evaluations, as well as setting and achieving strategic objectives within a planned budget.
  • History of building, coaching, and retaining high performance teams.
  • Success working collaboratively and professionally with a Board of Directors.
  • Strong knowledge of public and private funding sources and successful track record of fundraising, public relations, marketing, and community relations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills; ability to adapt and successfully lead an organization with a strong existing culture.
  • High level of integrity and energy; positive attitude; proactive thinker; sense of humor
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Advanced degree or commensurate nonprofit leadership required with an emphasis in not-for-profit leadership, public administration, or business administration.

CTC’s Operations / COVID-19

Children’s Therapy Center requires that all staff be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before beginning employment; unless by certified, document medical disability or religious accommodation.

Compensation & Benefits:

Children’s Therapy Center offers equitable and competitive pay commensurate with job-related experience and education.

The annualized salary range for this position is $180,000 - $225,000 dependent on related experience.

Our comprehensive benefits package includes generous paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and continuing education benefits. Supplemental/premium insurance options are also available. Eligible employees can enroll in our retirement plan with their first paycheck and will be eligible for company contributions after their first year of employment.
