What We Want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work on an NIH funded project to investigate the mechanisms of circadian clock control of mRNA translation and translation fidelity, or work on the development of circadian-based treatments for jet-lag, aging, and aging-associated disease.

What You Need to Know

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate PhD.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain a safe and supportive lab environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related fields

  • Experience in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, translation control mechanisms, and/or circadian biology

Responsibilities:

  • Research: Conducts experiments. Records and maintains accurate notes of experiments and results.

  • Manuscripts: Prepares figures. Writes and edits manuscripts.

  • Training: Participates in training of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.

  • Presentations: Presents research in lab meetings, journal clubs, and national and international meetings.

  • Lab Duties: Maintains a safe working environment. Assists with maintaining a BSLI laboratory and it's equipment, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
