Position Summary

Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education, through the Center for Educational Partnerships, is operating a Professional Development Center for New York City Religious and Independent Schools that provides professional development services in accordance with Title IIA and Title IVA of the Every Student Succeeds Act. This is a grant-funded position.

The Program Associate, under the supervision of the Project Director, will develop, plan, coordinate and implement professional development; as well as school improvement support throughout the NYC region for Religious and Independent Schools.

Essential Functions

  • Works under the immediate supervision of the Program Director.
  • Identifies the professional development needs of Religious and Independent Schools throughout the NYC Region (5 boroughs) in coordination with the Program Director.
  • Develops respectful, culturally responsive professional development for teachers and administrators in all Religious and Independent Schools in a host of academic content areas, e.g., literacy, mathematics, bilingual and ESL education, science, Special Education, and works with the program director to engage and schedule presenters.
  • Works with the Program Director, in coordination with the other NYS PDRCs, to conduct the annual Religious and Independent School Educators Conference (RISE) each fall.
  • Conducts follow-up evaluation surveys following all professional development events.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Education.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in developing and implementing professional development for teachers.
  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience within the grades (K-12) range.
  • Experience in working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

Minimum Starting Salary: $63,000

Maximum Starting Salary: $70,000

Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
