Salary Range: $38,680 - $46,420

Job Summary

Working closely with the Assistant Director of Institutional Research, the incumbent will be responsible for providing data to college faculty and staff to meet the institutional reporting, data analysis, and research needs. This includes the development of studies for college leadership regarding institutional effectiveness and the automation of data collection and visualization.

Job Duties

Work with the Assistant Director of Institutional Research to provide data to college faculty and staff to meet the institutional reporting and data analysis needs.
Confer and collaborate with offices or departments to perform data analysis and visualization, preparing feasibility studies and evaluation of outcomes.
Assist with the preparation of reports for the college leadership by providing analysis and summaries regarding institutional outcomes.
Collect data and prepare summary reports in support of grants, programs, and initiatives at the college to document institutional effectiveness.
Develop efficient and robust data reporting systems for the college through the use of business intelligence software packages such as Power BI, R and Python.
Improve efficiency of institutional analysis by creating automated reporting systems such as dashboards, storyboards, and interactive figures.
Engage in data visualization and predictive analytics to determine effectiveness by analyzing key performance indicators and key segments of the student population.
Provide summary reports utilizing Argos, SQL, and Power BI to college officials.
Plan, schedule, develop, and maintain required programming modifications, extracts, reports, forms, tables, web pages, and objects in the college’s reporting environment.
Assist faculty and staff members to identify and provide possible solutions to problems confronting end users of Argos or Banner reports.
Assist with the implementation of college planning software.
Engage in activities within the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to support college initiatives and activities.
Other duties as assigned to support the college.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Three years of related experience required.
Experience at an institution of higher education is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience working in technical and end-user support environments.
Recent Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft’s Office experience.
Familiarity with data analysis applications such as Power BI, R and Python.
Ability to learn SQL stored procedures, views, and scripts.
Ability to learn basic database administration and file transfer protocols.
A proven self-starter who can work with a minimum amount of supervision.
Demonstrated organizational and project management skills.
A passion to learn new software systems related to job duties as technology develops.
Customer service skills are essential in order to support the college’s reporting needs.
Data analysis skills, programming knowledge, and automation techniques.
Familiarity with statistical research techniques and predictive analytics.
Demonstrated ability to understand user needs and provide quality service.
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Technical knowledge related to the requirements of this position.
