The Department of Management in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time Instructional Assistant Professor to teach business law to undergraduate students starting in August, 2023.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses in BUS 250 business law, the regulation for entrepreneurship, law related to entrepreneurship, or other courses as assigned by the Dean of the School of Business Administration and Chair of the Department of Management. This teaching load for this position will be 4/3 (12 credit hours in the fall and 9 credit hours in the spring), with the option to teach summer courses for additional pay subject to course and funding availability.

 

Additionally, this position will be responsible for the simple coordination of the business law courses (BUS 250) across all the sections currently offered. The instructor will be asked to work with the management department chair to ensure that various sections (nearly 14 currently) are reasonably consistent in quality and content.

Required Qualifications: To be considered, applicants must have earned a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university. Preference for applicants who have relevant professional experience related to the legal environment of business; prior teaching experience in business law; demonstrated familiarity with technology and entrepreneurial ventures.
